Flannel Friday - Changes to Our Pinterest Boards

For those of you who frequent our Flannel Friday Pinterest boards, you'll notice that we've made some changes lately. In order to keep up with the growing Flannel Friday movement, we've made a few adjustments to our pinning process. These changes will enable us to keep expanding and allow more people to join in.

Our first big change is the addition of a This Week board. Here you'll find the pins from the current week, making it easy to see the new submissions.

The other change is bigger. In the past, each roundup host has pinned the images from the week's submissions. For this to happen, the hosts needed to have their own Pinterest account and had to be added as a pinner to each board (all 55 of them!). This can be time-consuming and can lead to confusion down the road, so we've simplified the process.

We've created the position of a Pinning Fairy Godmother (PFG), similar to the Flannel Friday Fairy Godmother (FFFG). The role of the PFG will be:
  1. To be the PFG for two months. Each PFG will be given access to the Flannel Friday Pinterest account.
  2. To pin the week's submissions to all appropriate boards.
  3. To create a special board for the current week's pins and delete the previous week's board.
The advantages to these changes are many. Those of you who would like to be involved but don't have a blog to host with can volunteer to be the PFG. Past hosts will revel in having their board lists decreased and the Flannel Friday boards will be much easier to maintain.

To past hosts who have access to the Flannel Friday boards: we will be taking your names off of the boards. If you have the time, feel free to take your own names off of the lists by editing each board and clicking the x next to your name.

We want to thank everyone who has been a big help in making these changes. We're always listening to advice and appreciate everything the community has done. As always, please continue to give us your suggestions and/or questions so we can make this group a valuable resource for all users.

I will try to remember to remove myself from the FF boards if I am on Pinterest this weekend ~ that way you won't have to do it.

  4. I removed myself from all the boards. I really like this idea. I think a PFG will be more thorough and acurate making the Pinterest boards even better. Well done! Thanks!
